It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the east. Cape Hachiman juts prominently into the Pacific Ocean and features lush sub-tropical vegetation.〔Nihon Daihyakka Zensho (Nipponika) Parts of the city are within the Minami Bōsō Quasi-National Park.
